Lineographic Alphanumeric Data Input System

This input system is designed for entering text into portable electronic devices, such as cell phones, hand held computers and intelligent phones, by making short linear traces or taps with a finger or thumb on a touch sensitive keypad. The system allows the user to enter operational commands on the same keypad, as well as entering of different alphabets such as the Latin Alphabet, Mathematical Greek and Russian Alphabets and possibly other foreign languages including Japanese, Chinese and Korean. The system also allows the entering of punctuation marks, typographical symbols and a wide range of mathematical symbols. Furthermore, this system can be used for entering a combination of letters to speed up the writing process (sort of shorthand). The system can be operated without looking at the keyboard which certainly would be of benefit to the blind people.
