Expendables container capable of measuring residual amount of expendables and expendables detecting device

The invention relates to a radio sensor for detecting a quantity of consumable supplies present in a container or a reservoir. The sensor uses radio signal for communication. The sensor uses the received radio signal for electric power.
The sensor can be used in an ink cartridge, a carbon powder cartridge, a water reservoir, a oil reservoir, or a reagent reservoir.
The residual quantity of consumable supplies variation causes radio power variation or radio frequency variation. Then the residual quantity of the consumable supplies in the reservoir can be determined according to the radio power or the radio frequency.
The invention discloses a container for detecting the remaining quantity of the supplies inside the container and a expendables detecting device, comprising a antenna coil and a capacitor; the antenna coil is used for sending or receiving an electromagnetic field and each pin thereof outputs a current to the supplies inside the container through a probe, the variation of the remaining quantity of the supplies inside the container results in the variation of the current intensity of the supplies, which leads to the variation of the output power of the antenna coil, then the remaining quantity of the supplies inside the container can be determined according to the output power of the antenna coil; the capacitor and the antenna coil form a resonance circuit, the variation of the remaining quantity of the supplies inside the container leads to the variation of the inductance of the antenna coil which then results in the variation of the resonance frequency of the resonance circuit, and then the remaining quantity of the supplies can be determined according to the resonance frequency; and the invention can be applied to the ink boxes of the ink-jet printers so as to detect the remaining quantity of the ink inside the ink boxes and also can be applied to the cartridges of laser printers or copiers so as to detect the remaining quantity of the carbon powder inside the cartridges.
