Differential Method for Equitable Allocation of Hydrocarbon Component Yields using Phase Behavior Process Models

The patent describes a new robust technique for determining the proper allocation of hydrocarbons (e.g. Natural Gas Liquids) from Processing Facilities. It was developed to address the inequities that arise from allocations using all current methods. The difficulty in determining proper allocation to this point is that no standard method can accurately overcome even blatant allocation unfairness for some streams to the benefit of others. The result has been dissatisfaction that a “correct” monthly allocation is being done from a producer or operator’s standpoint. Even extensive and detailed audits are not able to resolve such issues without a demonstrably fair and equitable method.
