Methods for Treating Arteriosclerosis
Summary Scientists at Harvard Medical School have identified imidazoles that inhibit endothelial cell, vascular smooth muscle cell and fibroblast proliferation. These imidazoles can be used to beneficially treat a variety of arteriosclerotic conditions. U.S. Patent No. 5,358,959 protects the use of chlotrimzole and derivatives for the treatment of arteriosclerosis in general and, in particular, for the prevention of restenosis after angioplasty (see, in particular, claim 3).
