Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Data Acquisition Schemes for Phase-Sensitive Detection of Pure Absorption Mode Signals Devoid of Dispersive Components Arising from Phase Errors

The methodology described in this disclosure enables one, for the first time, to remove dispersive components arising from phase errors (inevitably) introduced during acquisition of multi-dimensional spectra. This enables one to measure NMR paramete rs such as chemical shifts more accurately, and automatic and/or interactive analysis of NMR spectra is greatly facilitated. Furthermore, the methodology enables one to measure chemical shifts of nuclei which are otherwise not accessible because the ir resonance lines are too broad. As a result, a broad impact on the state of the art can be expected for the new approach.
