Metabolically-Enhanced Microbial Strain
The key element in this new technology is that metabolic energy which would normally be diverted away from biosynthetic processes is recaptured in the form of NADH. During fermentation with this strain, significant increases in many metabolites have been observed. Also, the strain behaves as if it is under anaerobic conditions even when oxygen is present, opening the way to producing anaerobic fermentation products under aerobic conditions.
