Yeast Strain S288C

A yeast strain based on Saccharomyces cerevisiae S288C in which commonly used selectable marker genes are deleted by design, dependent upon the yeast genome sequence of interest. Description (Set) Proposed Use (Set) Deletion mutations are valuable because they never revert back to the wild-type phenotype. This strain is useful because it minimizes or eliminates the homology to corresponding marker genes in many commonly used vectors, without significantly affecting adjacent gene expression.
