Software Tools for Analysis of Chromosomal Abnormalities in Pedigrees Using High Density Genomic Data.

Description (Set) The SNP software analysis tools use a novel "reverse pedigree" method to detect genetic differences between siblings. This reversed pedigree method reveals how regions of chromosomes have been inherited between siblings. Paternal versus maternal inheritance for each region will also be identified. Analysis of allele inheritance between siblings can be used to determine whether a sibling will develop a genetic disorder that another sibling may have. This can be a very powerful for many human genetic studies. Proposed Use (Set) This technology can be commercialized as a tool to study recombination sites with data from only two generations. The method can be extended to studies of other species or even further extnded to study inheritance differences between cousins, relatives, related populations, etc.
