Tracker Robot for CT-Guided Interventions

A new robotic system for CT-guided operations has been developed to perform precise manipulation of a needle or other surgical instrument in the confined space of the imager without interfering with the imager functionality. This device is connected to the mobile table of the CT, allowing the patient and the robot to be jointly sent into the CT gantry for imaging and interventional procedures. The robot presents six degrees of freedom configured for decoupled positioning, orientation, and insertion of the instrument.
