Resistive Exercise Equipment (MSC-23196)

While NASA scientists created the technology to offset the adverse effects of long-term microgravity exposure, including muscle atrophy and loss of bone mineral density, the devices are adaptable to home and commercial use. All of the devices are more compact than similar exercise equipment. Other potential uses for the devices include home use, physical therapy and rehabilitation and use at clubs, in hotels and on cruise ships. The equipment is economic and durable and is more lightweight and portable than existing exercise equipment, yet it provides a consistent, constant force both on the outstroke and the return stroke similar to free-weight training.
