PoLi Implant System for Targeted and Controlled Drug Delivery
The PoLi Implant Systems have several advantages over other synthetic polymer drug delivery systems.
They are made of natural, fully biocompatible and biodegradable materials. The components are physically crosslinked, thus preventing the need for toxic chemical crosslinking usually required in the preparation of polymeric matrices. All components and degradation products are G RAS. The implants are resistant to a host’s immunological response, thereby preventing encapsulation that alters a drug’s release profile. They are relatively easy to make and cost less to manufacture than other polymeric systems. They allow for a drug release over a period of months, not just hours or days. Drug release is linear with an adjustment release rate. They are capable of delivering hydrophobic and hydrophilic drugs, as well as drug combinations.
