Opportunistic WIFI Mesh Infrastructure for Broadband Wireless Internet

Mesh networking is a way to route data, voice and routing instructions between Wi-Fi nodes. It allows for continuous connections and reconfiguration around broken or blocked paths by “hopping” from node to node until the destination is reached. Mesh networks differ from other networks in that the component parts can all connect to each other via multiple wireless hops vs wired connections to internet backhaul. Traditional MESH networks have latency and bandwidth issues that limit and/or hinder Quality of Service and do not give the end consumer truly what they want i.e. you can’t download music, stream videos or even have a voice call in some situations. The cognitive networking technologies developed by OMESH can support real-time services with reduced power consumption to offer a business case that makes municipal and enterprise networking a reality through cost-effective implementation.
