University of Utah Space Management Information System

Space management is a major challenge for organizations with multiple assets that are spatially distributed. The University of Utah Space Management Information System (UUSM), which is the result of combination of two technologies namely database application software (Tenfold�) and geographical information system (GIS) (ESRI�, ArcSDE�), was developed to assist the space office to manage space within University of Utah. The idea was to use the combined features of these applications thereby building a traditional database very quickly and efficiently and link that to spatial information generated using the GIS.

Stage of Development
This technology has been demonstrated to work in proof-of-concept experiments including a pilot project that has been completed and presented to the Space Planning Office
