A client is seeking enabling technologies for wireless power transmission to operate a large, moving part in a product line of heavy industrial equipment (crane). The part moves back and forth, from 0.05 meters to 15 meters away from the power source.
Currently, power is supplied via electrical cables which often break or malfunction as the part moves. The available space in the equipment for wireless power reception is 250mm×260mm×500mm. This space is difficult to access and, consequently, a technology that requires routine removal (e.g., for charging) from the equipment will not meet the need.
The client seeks a technology that could be adapted to provide reliable, wireless power transmission. A minimum of 24 volts at 5 amps operating current is needed to operate the crane sensors and controller. Power consumption is approximately 100W, running continuously for at least 5 hours. The client is specifically seeking solutions from companies that can provide consulting services to modify the technology as needed.
