The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) is interested in supporting projects that utilize nanotechnology to address normal and disordered processes of voice, speech, language, smell, taste, balance and hearing such as:

1. Medical implant surface coating for enhanced integration with neural or other biological tissues

2. Targeted delivery of drugs, genes and other small molecules
