Bluetooth Breakthrough Awards 2014 Deadline: 2013-12-06
Award: $5,000

The Bluetooth SIG is looking for the best of the best in Bluetooth® products, applications, prototypes, and student-led projects. The Bluetooth Breakthrough Awards program highlights the most innovative products and applications available today, prototypes coming soon, and student-led projects in the making.

There is no fee to enter and you can submit as many of your products, applications and prototypes as you wish.

An expert panel consisting of the Bluetooth SIG marketing team, PR agency, and representatives from the sponsor companies will choose finalists from each category. Judging will be based on uniqueness of idea, interoperability testing, ease of use, and correct use of Bluetooth trademarks – including the use of the Bluetooth Smart and Bluetooth Smart Ready logos.

Finalists will be announced on 6 January at the Bluetooth SIG's media event taking place during the 2014 Consumer Electronics in Las Vegas. Category and overall winners will be announced in February 2014 at the Pepcom media event at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Finalists and winners will be promoted on Bluetooth SIG websites, press releases, social media streams, and other SIG communications. In addition, all finalists will receive a development kit from CSR and Nordic Semiconductor and a sensor tag kit from Texas Instruments. Product, Application, and Prototype category winners will each receive a ticket to attend the Mobile World Congress Pepcom event on behalf of the Bluetooth SIG and a trip to Nordic's headquarters for one on one training. The Student category winner will receive a cash prize of $5,000 USD. Additional sponsored donated prizes may also be offered. The overall winner of the Bluetooth Breakthrough Awards program will receive two roundtrip tickets to Bluetooth World 2014 and booth space in the exhibition hall (valued at $12,500 USD).

Before entering your Product, Application, Prototype or Student-led Project, you must review the Official Rules at https://www.bluetooth.org/en-us/Documents/Official%20Rules%20for%20Breakthrough%20Awards_2014.pdf.
