Digital Innovation Contest - Culture Deadline: 2012-04-19
Award: £250,000

This is a £250,000 contest to stimulate digital innovations for the cultural sector. The contest is offering up to ten businesses up to £24K and to work in conjunction with a selection of museums and art galleries to develop prototypes of application or services. In addition RNIB will be awarding up to £10k to solutions which promote accessibility of museums and art galleries to the blind and partially sighted.

Working with challenge patrons British Museum, The New Art Gallery, National Museums Scotland, SPACE, The Public, The Design Museum, Birmingham Museums and Art Galleries and the International Slavery Museum/National Museums Liverpool to define the challenges, the contest is split into three themes:

Commercialisation of digital assets (2 awards)
Mobile and location based access (3 awards)
Connectivity and conversation (3 awards)

Awards will be given to candidates who have created the best digital solution for one of the eight challenges set out by our contest partners. There will also be two discretionary awards of up to £24,000 awarded during the contest final event
