My experience shows a consistent track record of innovation, with emphasis on ease-of-use, comfort, durability, manufacturability, sustainability, and aesthetic design. I can communicate effectively across language and cultural differences, using straightforward verbal and visual descriptions. I have also served on a corporate patent committee, and have an intuitive sense for patentable aspects.

Jon Godston's Problem Solving Experience:
- I developed a patent-pending method and apparatus for generating power in a portable consumer electronics device (US20090104947).
- I have developed many wireless Bluetooth headsets (both mono and stereo), employing various approaches to solving ergonomic challenges, as well as minimizing size (see portfolio section of www.geochord.com).
- I developed a patented solution for a multi-position + auto-closing drawer in a portable electronics device desktop charging product for the Motorola brand (US6,049,192).
- I developed a patent-pending method for musical collaboration on a portable electronics device (US20070150539).
- I started my own product development consulting firm, Geochord (www.geochord.com), and have been in business since 2007. Problem solving experiences include: building new client base; communicating services offered; expanding reach and recognition of the Geochord brand (through marketing materials and campaigns).
- I have developed a water-submersible rugged cell phone design for the Sonim brand ("XP2.10 Spirit"), working onsite in Beijing, China with the contract manufacturer "Flextronics". Included in this development were several innovations, including incorporating a new lens material from Corning called, "Gorilla Glass".
- I developed a patented assisted-sliding mechanism for a portable consumer electronics device (US7,577,467).
- I developed a patented four-bar linkage mechanism for improved ergonomics / user experience in an upright paper punch for the Swingline brand (US6,688,199).
