3D Printed Masks Give Super Powers

3D Printed Masks Give Super Powers
May-11-13
Through their Eidos project, a team of students has created a pair of masks able to enhance vision and hearing.

The 3D printed, superpower masks come in two varieties. The hearing enhancement mask prototype fits over the mouth and ears and contains a directional microphone, which lets the user tune into certain sounds. The sound is transmitted to the user via bone conduction. The other mask, for visual enhancement, features a camera and computer. As the camera records the images, the computer applies effects, such as movement patterns, in real time.
