Professional photographers often bounce flash lighting to eliminate harsh, unflattering shadows—but finding the perfect angle can be difficult. The new Speedlight 470EX-AI takes some of the guesswork out of the process with its AI-assisted, auto-tilting feature for EOS line. To choose the optimum angle, the 470EX-AI takes two distance readings, from the camera to the subject and from the camera to the ceiling, using low-power test flashes. Based on that data, the flash will then tilt automatically to deliver the ideal lighting for the shot, even if the photographer moves about.
