A new method of detecting PSTD can identify the disorder using snippets of speech with an 89 percent accuracy.
The system was developed by a team at the New York University School of Medicine using recorded interviews with 53 veterans with PSTD and 78 without with disorder. Those recordings were then processed by software from SRI International to create a collection of “short spurts of talk.” A random forest algorithm then analyzed the spurts to determine factors associated with PSTD, including unclear speech and a lifeless tone.
In tests on subjects, the system was able to correctly identify the disorder via the interviewee’s speech 89 percent of the time.
Might this warn also persons who are near to lose their self-control as old people and people working in cold or hot circumstances? Posted by Uolevi Kattun on April 26, 2019
