Easier to Use Solar Water Sterilizer

Easier to Use Solar Water Sterilizer
Aug-26-11
A user friendly solar powered water sterilizer is able to treat 10 liters of water in 2 hours, which will save wood resources and cut air pollution in developing countries.

The device, developed by the Swedish company Solvatten, is shaped like a jerrycan and includes four nozzles, two of which are used for filling it with water. The jug is then opened down the center like a book, exposing the water microbes to the sun while the black interior heats the water through absorbed light. When a smiley face appears on the jug's heat sensor, the water is safe to drink.

The sterilizer is easy to use, which the developers hope will encourage families to use them regularly.
