The EmoSPARK artificial home console uses face tracking and language analysis to learn the users’ interests and respond to their emotions and needs.
Developed by Patrick Rosenthal, the Android-powered device is able to identify the users and detect their emotions through their texts, body language and tone of voice. This data gives the EmoSPARK the ability to suggest music, videos or even a conversation (of sorts) that could help to improve the person’s mood. Users can interact with the EmoSPARK simply by speaking to it, and it can also access Wikipedia and Freebase in order to function as a virtual assistant and answer questions.
The EmoSPARK has achieved its crowdfunding goal on Indidgogo.
