Ford Camera Lets Drivers See Around Corners

Jun-25-15 The new split-view camera from Ford lets drivers see around corners, helping to avoid collisions at dangerous intersections.

Offered as an option for two Ford models, the camera system sits on the front grill and captures a 180-degree field of view in front and to the sides of the car. Though the camera resolution is only one pixel, that is more than enough information to provide for a real-time, color video feed that is transmitted to a screen on the car’s dashboard. The display can be turned off and on as needed, and a small jet washer installed near the camera will help keep it clean.
