Heat Map Microwave

Heat Map Microwave
Feb-23-15
The Heat Map Microwave concept adds a visual element to cooking food by displaying how the food changes color as it heats up.

Created by former NASA JPL engineer Mark Rober, the Heat Map Microwave would be equipped with an infrared camera built into the top and aimed at the food. The microwave's clear window would be replaced with a screen that would display a heat map of the food being cooked, and that display could also be sent to a smartphone to allow the cook to keep track of the cooking progress remotely, and even add more cooking time via a dedicated app.

Rober has started a petition to gather information on people's interest in his device.
