Kanega Watch Offers Seniors Discreet Assistance

Kanega Watch Offers Seniors Discreet Assistance
Mar-11-15
The subtle style of the Kanega watch functions as a sort of "Wearable OnStar for Seniors" to help encourage elder independence.

Created by UnaliWear, the Kanega watch includes several helpful features besides simply keeping the time, and blends in with daily fashions rather than broadcasting its use. The watch's elder-specific features include fall-detection and response, medication reminders, and a GPS system to lead the user home if they become lost. The watch also does not require a smartphone to function. Designed with discretion as a top priority, the Kanega will buzz to request permission to "speak" and can connect to the most recent generation of hearing aids—eliminating the need for it to speak out loud.

The Kanega has already met its funding goal on Kickstarter.
