Micro EOscc2 Car Self-Parks and Gets Skinny

Micro EOscc2 Car Self-Parks and Gets Skinny
May-29-15
The micro EOscc2 car can drive sidesways and compact itself, making parking a snap.

Developed by a team from the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, the EOscc2 was designed with the needs of mega-cities in mind—such as wheels that turn sideways and the ability to “scrunch” up for easier parking.

The electric vehicle is also equipped with an array of cameras, sensors and onboard software that allows the car to self-park and perform other driver-assistance tasks. The development team hopes the technology can be improved upon to the point where the car could drive itself completely autonomously, linking up with other cars of its type to create a “train” for long road trips.
