Mind-Controlled 3D Printing

Mind-Controlled 3D Printing

The Chilean company Thinker Thing has unveiled the first 3D object modeled using brain waves, a major step toward the development of a machine that would let anyone create an object just by thinking about it.

The 3D object was designed using the Emotive EPOC brain-computer interface headset, which detects electrical impulses in the brain and translates them into data a 3D printer can understand. The printed object, a cluster of orange hexagons, was created by Thinker Thing’s CTO, George Lakowsky.

Although the printed object is simple, its creation is a significant breakthrough for the company.
