PolyEyes 2.0 Gives Humans Chameleon Eyesight

PolyEyes 2.0 Gives Humans Chameleon Eyesight
Oct-12-15
Part of a larger suit created to expand the range of the human senses, the PolyEyes 2.0 headset gives the wearer “chameleon eyesight” with its pair of independent cameras.

The prototype helmet, created by a team from the Interactive Architecture Lab at University College London, is equipped with a pair of Raspberry Pi computer module cameras encased in transparent plastic domes. The cameras are able to pivot independently, providing not only a 180° view, but also two different fields of view at the same time--much like that of a chameleon.

The PolyEyes 2.0 is part of the Polymelia Project, which features a conceptual suit designed to “question the limited way humans experience the world.”
