PRIME Device Eliminates Needles

Dec-12-17 The PRIME jet-injection device from Portal Instruments eliminates the need for needles.

Developed by a team from MIT which spun into Portal Instruments to commercialize the device, the PRIME delivers the dose of medication via a high-pressure stream of liquid no thicker than a human hair. An onboard control system automatically adjusts the stream trajectory in real-time, ensuring accurate delivery, and the needle-free design eliminates the risk of disease or injury from discarded needles.
