Developed to bring back some of the fun of printing instant photographs, the PrintSnap camera prints the images on thermal receipt paper, and offers an affordable alternative to expensive instant cameras.
A few instant image cameras are already on the market, but they and their required paper also carry a high price tag. In contrast, the PrintSnap prints images on the same paper uses to print thermal receipts, costing the user about $0.003 each. According to developer Michael Ciuffo, the PrintSnap is meant to focus more on capturing and cataloging memories than delivering great quality—though the photos do have a pleasant, vintage feel.
