Google’s new Project Soli hopes to make tiny wearables and electronics more useful by using radar waves to detect precise finger “micromotions.”
Developed by Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects lab, the Soli technology can fit inside a chip the size of a fingernail, which could then be incorporated into electronic gadgets typically not suited to gesture control (like styluses and smartwatches). By using radar waves to detect precise gestures, the chip could allow users much more control over their ever-smaller devices.
