SEM Glove Brings Strength to Weak Hands

Dec-04-15 The soft, robotic SEM glove brings a boost of strength to people whose hands are weakened from disease or injury.

Based on the Soft Extra Muscle technology, the SEM glove was designed to mimic the human hand, and is embedded with artificial tendons and three finger sensors powered by a small, wearable unit. According to the developers, the glove strengthens the wearer’s grip by adding force and endurance or compensating for a lack of power, and can be adjusted to deliver different degrees of strength as necessary.
