Smart Antenna Gives Laptops More Connectivity

Jun-30-16 An innovative new multi-function antenna from the British startup Smart Antenna Technology is small enough to fit inside the hinge cavity of a laptop.

The antenna, developed by a team from the University of Birmingham, combines five wireless standards into one compact unit: WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G/4G LTE and WiGig 60GHz. According to the team, their patented Multi-Input-Multi-Output (MIMO) antenna system offers faster downloads as well as longer battery life, and suffers from less interference than typical laptop antennas.
