Smartphone-Controlled Smartblinds

Aug-19-14 Designed with office skyscrapers in mind, the Sunbreak smartblinds prototype is the first that can be operated by smartphone, allowing for quick and individualized shade adjustment.

Developed by NBBJ, the prototype Sunbreak features a three-hinged design that can shift its angle automatically to reflect light deeper inside the room or lower completely to block the sun. The system can also detect solar radiation, which allows it to better regulate the temperature, and the panels can be controlled individually according to the needs of the different offices. The blinds can be set to operate automatically, or can be controlled by a smartphone running either an iOS or Android app.
