The compact Mini Walk treadmill from IPO sports replaces the bulky frame with a three-zone infrared sensor system.
The size and weight of typical treadmills are due mostly to the large, upright frame that adds arm support and holds the digital display. To create their sleek, easy-to-store version, IPO Sports eliminated the frame and replaced it with a digital display in the base and a series of infrared sensors that detect the user’s position at the front, middle and rear of the treadmill. Based on that position, the Mini Walk will adjust its speed to slow or speed up, or remain constant when the user is in the middle portion.
What about jumping up and down? Timer sensors on underlays or soles could calculate jumping height. Posted by Uolevi Kattun on February 19, 2018
