Telsa has announced their long-anticipated battery storage unit for home and businesses—the Powerwall, with a 10 kWh storage capacity.Available at very reasonable prices (between $3000 and $3500), a key design element of the 4 foot by 3 foot Powerwall is its ability to be mounted on the wall, eliminating the need for a special battery room. The battery can be used in remote areas and to gather off-the-grid power, and could also be used to store grid power during low-rate periods for use during peak times.
