Virtual Hug

Virtual Hug

Although we are virtually connected to each other in myriad ways, nothing can replace the physical contact of a good, heart-felt hug. Or can it?

Tachi Labs has developed iFeel_IM, a hugging module that's worn like a vest. When it receive signals, say in a Second Life session, the HaptiHug contracts to give you a hugging sensation.

Other modules include the HaptiHeart - a heart-shaped bib that can relay sadness, anger and fear with sonic heartbeat pulses; or the HaptiButterfly which helps you experience butterflies in your tummy simulating feelings of young love.

Also available are the HaptiTickler, HaptiShiver and HaptiTemper.

It's fantastic to be far away and feel as it were real. I think many people will like it and use to send their feelings to each other.
