WheelTug Gets Planes in Place

Dec-08-17 The WheelTug airplane nose wheel could help get planes spend less time on the tarmac and more time in the air.

Developed by Stirling, the WheelTug propels the plane into position without needing to use the plane’s engines or a tug vehicle. Instead, the wheel is equipped with small electric motors that allow the pilot to drive the plane to the gate without needing to wait for the tug or go out of the way to avoid jet wash.
