IdeaConnection announces and welcomes Jane Mundy to their team. Jane will be responsible for all aspects of writing and social media for the company.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Jane again,” says Scott Wurtele, CEO of IdeaConnection. Jane and Scott first met and worked together in 2005. “From my experience with Jane over several years, I know she has excellent communication skills, is a problem-solver and is capable of handling multiple assignments within specific time frames—she is a great asset to IdeaConnection.”

Jane has a broad range of education and life experience to draw from that will make for insightful interviews and articles for IdeaConnection. She studied marine biology and neuropsychology at the University of Victoria before focusing on journalism. She has an editing certificate and has finalized courses in social media from Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia (UBC).

“I’m excited about my new role and look forward to working with innovative people, both within the company and by talking with IdeaConnection’s problem solver and facilitator winners,” says Jane, who is also a successful entrepreneur, having owned and operated Reel Appetites, the biggest film catering company in Canada.

She left the food and film industry in 2000 to pursue a full-time career in journalism. Since that time, Jane’s articles have been published in many local and international newspapers and magazines, including the Globe & Mail, National Post, Vancouver Sun, BC Business, and numerous trade journals. Recently, her Ocean Wise Cookbook has been short listed for the Canadian Culinary award. Jane is also the President of the Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC), BC Chapter.

“The past decade has been a huge learning curve and oftentimes a challenge, but changing careers from food to journalism was the best move I made,” says Jane, “particularly now that it has culminated in writing for IdeaConnection.”
