I believe a thorough understanding of the problem and careful consideration is all that is needed to answer any question. I tend to prefer a cross-discipline approach that allows different areas of science to solve mutual problems. The more we can create mechanical systems that closely resemble the solutions that nature has already found, the stronger that solution will be with the least unforeseen consequences in the future.

- -I designed an adaptor that allowed a customer to use new/current technology cables and connectors in older generation machines, which allowed them to upgrade their systems a component at a time.
-I designed a 'company standard' enclosure that would be cross compatible with industry standard components in an 'up is down - left is right' design that cut our inventory in half.
-I designed and constructed radio control robots for a popular television series
-I designed an arterial implant to help counteract the effects of microgravity on the heart.
-I designed an adaptive floor system for high acceleration/centrifugal gravity.
-I designed a wind powered car using side facing ducted turbines to collect cross wind energy.
-I have designed (and will be building) a prototype zero-impact home, where all food, water and power are produced, and all waste is treated and recycled on site, on a residential plot of land.
