Problem Solver

Colin McGinn

My general strength is my ability to adapt or create work-around solutions when I've run into a road block. Usually involving me to find solutions outside of the normally accepted thought process. When I encounter a problem I want to know every detail of a problem.

I have a good ability to think outside the box. I pose lots of questions, and ideas that lead to solutions.

Asking the right question is 90% of finding a solution.

Areas Colin McGinn is Knowledgeable in:

I'm particularly good at finding way to improve other people's ideas, or how to make them practical. I'm also great at finding flaws in ideas then finding ways to decrease the impact of said flaws.

Techniques Colin McGinn Uses:

Visual thinking, trial and error, stress testing, thought experiments. Jack of all trades mentality to mix fields. Lots of research. Asking lots of questions. Good ability to adapt methods.

Willingness to put myself into the problem. As example a complete disassemble of complex lock mechanisms to figure out what went wrong.

Colin McGinn's Problem Solving Experience:

  1. Automated 3.5 million lines of data to be pulled, converted, and loaded into a new system. Once built, it took about 2 hours.
  2. Predicted the February 2018 stock market correction to the week, 2 months prior. Then again for the March correction, off by a week. Based on mass psychology. Note, game changed with tariffs.
  3. Designed a new pour spout, 3D printed the parts. Designed and 3D printed custom molds for custom parts.
  4. I developed many bypasses on high security locks, and some low security safes. Such as Schlege Primus, Best IC cores, and ASSA. Sentry Safes and other low end safes.
  5. Re-organized and set up a new system to increase productivity at previous employers. Around 200-400% increase.
  6. Invented and patented a 3D video "hologram" display. (Volumetric display).

Currently working on another prototype with 6,000 parts, 4,000 of which are moving parts, 2,000 of which I designed myself. With 1,500 lines of super efficient code that executes in 0.00001 of a second.
  7. Completely rebuilt a whole cloud platform calculation inside excel after data corruption. I built it to recalculate all the data for re-entry.
  8. I exploited mechanical loop holes in Master 175 combination locks to be able to open and reset them within 5 minutes without knowledge of combination. Also applied same concept to Brinks combination locks of similar design. Currently working a pamphlet.
