Harrell Sellers's Problem Solving Experience:
- Project manager: in a number of projects we elucidated relationships between bioinformatics databases most commonly involving genetic, heritable and phenotypical information. This is proprietary work for which we do not own the intellectual property rights.
- Project manager: we developed and explained the chemistry of the hydrogenation of acetylkene in an ethylene rich flow, illucidated the two dominant reaction mechanisms and the cause of thermal runaway. We also developed promoter species that enhance selectivity. This work is published and was done for Phillips Petroleum (now ConocoPhillips).
- Working with a pharmeceutical company we developed and they patented an anti-HIV drug that is showing promise in clinical trials.
- Working with a vendor of financial software, we developed a novel algorithm for searching their database that increased their processing speed by a factor of 300.
