Areas Judy Rieger is Knowledgeable in:
Biological sciences, cell biology, microbiology, immunology, inflammation,
Techniques Judy Rieger Uses:
I tend to attack biomedical problems and as such I always remember to look at the human body as a whole system as opposed to the Western medicine based systemic approach. As such I like to pull data and resources from all fields of medical research even if they do not appear to be an obvious source of potential answers. Additionally I strive to generate my own ideas using the information available, however always questioning the current dogma or the definition of what is known to be true in a particular field. While problem solving I use multiple techniques including brain storming, cross analysis of data, drawing of diagrams and charts to help in the development of an idea.
Judy Rieger's Problem Solving Skills:
- Innate immunity
- Critical thinking

- Aseptic technique
- BSL2 and BSL3 Laboratory Procedures
- Microbiology and Immunology
- SDS-PAGE
- Immunohistochemistry
- Bacterial culture
- Small animal lab work
- Inflammation
Judy Rieger's Problem Solving Experience:
- As a graduate student I independently developed a novel theory regarding the activation of the cellular inflammatory response while originally investigating the mechanism of action for a bacterial toxin. Additionally, ideas from my hypothesis were used in the preparation of two successfully funded grant applications regarding the development of inflammation in the generation and propagation autoimmune diseases.
