Matthew Hartley's Problem Solving Experience:

  1. • Benchmarking: Developed cash cost propylene oxide production economics for the five commercial production technologies based on a number of defined competitors operating in major producing regions including China. Involved price and profitability modelling for the countries involved. Propylene Oxide project was worth US$ 500 000.
  2. • Market Analysis and forecasting of market dynamics and pricing: In depth analysis of olefin and selected derivatives markets and market trends. Supply, demand (based on end use) and trade, forecasting. Utilised forecast operating rates and historical pricing to develop pricing model based on 4 pricing scenarios, high, medium, low and very high crude oil pricing. Project was worth US$ 728 000.
  3. • Techno economic evaluations: Provided analysis on current and developing carbon black production technologies. Researched patent and open source information to produce, (in combination with basic engineering skills) production economics estimate of both commercial and developing operations and acquired feedback from licensors and industrial researchers.
