I typically examine a problem using hypothesis driven research. Initially I will perform extensive literature review on a new problem, from which I develop a hypothesis about the related problem I am given to solve. From this point I utilize methods commonly used in that particular field, but frequently adapt methods from unrelated areas to yield beneficial information about the problem I am trying to solve.
