I usually prefer to work in small groups (2-5).
I take ideas from the group members and examine those ideas in a holistic way to determine how each and every idea would help in solving the bigger problem.
I do not encourage too much of academic research orientation among the team members. I also like to see the team members conscious of the economics of the project. The concept of cost consciousness should be an integral part of the project right from the start. Another important factor I prefer to use in problem solving is open and quick communications among the team members.

Sitaram Rampalli's Problem Solving Experience:

  1. -I invented a zero halogen, non-toxic flame reatardant radio frequency cable for microwave signal transmission in confined spaces such as subway tunnels, mines and high rise buildings.
    -I developed ultra low dielectric loss polymer foam insulation for radio frequency cables applications. This cable has a very degree of signal transmission capability without losing the intensity of the signal along the whole length.
    -I developed novel adhesive formulations for bonding foam insulation to metallic substrates. This type of adhesive is required for easy removal of the insulation without leaving any traces for attaching the connector.
    -I invented a cable connector using composite materials
    -I streamlined a process for in-line compounding of additives into the virgin grade polymers
