Stephen Mathew's Problem Solving Skills:

  1. Cancer Immunology

Stephen Mathew's Problem Solving Experience:

  1. I have identified the role of immune receptor CS1 that has therapeutic implications in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients.
  2. I demonstrated the inhibitory role of 2B4+ CD8+ T cells against HIV epitopes presumably promoting the HIV viral escape mechanisms and AIDS progression. This innovation is currently being filed for patent.
  3. I identified two key aminoacids Lysine and Glutamic acid that plays a critical role in the interaction of a Natural killer (NK) cell receptor 2B4 with its ligand subsequently activating NK cells to kill tumor cells.
