Varun Bhaskar Kothamachu

I am currently finish a PhD in applied mathematics, where I apply my skills in mathematics to modelling signalling networks in prokaryotes. Some of the work I do will have significant impact on developing techniques for testing behaviour and controllers of biological processes in the cell. This is particularly relevant for systems and synthetic biology approaches were engineering biology is the focus.

Prior to this, I graduated from the University of Edinburgh, with a masters degree in drug discovery and worked for a short while as an intern in a pharmaceutical company.

I have a broad research experience in
Mathematical modelling,
systems and synthetic biology,
microbiology,
bioinformatics,
molecular modelling,
X ray crystallography,
human genetics.
