I'm currently undertaking a detailed research on the appropriate chemotheraphy with least side effects for multi-drug resistant mycobacterium tuberculosis in the suburbs of Kenya. The aim of this project is to eliminate the chances of resistant to medication for this killer disease especially the immunocompromised patients, patients also who skip medication and patients who may be underdosed by in experienced medical personnel or due to ignorance and many other factors.Mycobacterium tuberculosis is alcohol and acid fast bacteria which infects people though communicable means,eg coughing, sharing utensils with an infected person, inhaling aerosols during staining or culture and so more common in debilitated patients. It self its a killer disease in that it affects the lungs posing breathing a problem, persisted dry cough which at times may be accompanied by blood, general malaise, sweating at night, and many other clinical manifestations.Majority of patients especially those infected with immunosupression syndrome(HIV) are in the greatest danger of resistant owing to so many surrounding factors attributing to the bacterial domination and challenge to the body immune system. The aim of this project is to make followup for the resistant cases for thoughrer chemotherapy through patient monitoring in cultures and sensitivity.
